All you need to know about us!!
Becoming a member of Aluminium and taking part in young enterprise has allowed all members of the team to gain various different skills which will help in all aspects of our future careers. One of the key skills that we have gained is team work, in almost every career team work is essential to complete tasks to a successful outcome. However having such a large team we have had our disagreements but we found through teamwork and communication we have been able to solve most of them
As a team we have produced a set of ready to cook jars of dry ingredients which make various different recipes. When Aluminium created this product we aimed to produce a product that looked professional and old fashioned but that would be easy to use by anyone. With the ingredients and method included it does just that. We have developed a fully functional website that allows customers to find out more about the team and our product but also give us both positive and critical feedback.
The advertising and marketing team worked on a design for the logo for both our team and star jars and developed a professional logo.
The next step was to carry out in-depth market research to find the best suppliers to purchase our raw materials from. We found that the cheapest place to purchase the air tight jars from was Ikea. Material was brought from Abakhan our local material company and ingredients were bought from both Costco and Tesco. With all the materials in the bag, production of Star Jars began. It was important that production took place in a clean, professional environment. Prestatyn High School's catering department was the ideal environment and we were observed by qualified health and safety personnel. The first step was the sterilisation of all the jars and the measurement of the ingredients. Stickers were put on jars and to complete the look material was added. Our product was now complete and ready for selling.
Discussions are on going on how we could improve in the future, by improving our website to allow customers to place orders and make payments online. Doing this would allow Aluminium to increase our profit income.
